Priorities:
1 - Burglary
2 - E-bikes and scooters
3 - Rural theft
Priority Period:
October to December 2026
How priorities are chosen:
The priorities for the Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Team is reviewed every 3 months in a Multi-Agency meeting attended by local authorities, problem solving specialists, and neighbourhood policing teams.
The meeting looks at the data from crime recording and intelligence systems held by the police, as well as data from the Nottinghamshire Police Crime Commissioners Office and responses to the ‘What Matters’ survey submitted to the police via the Notts Alert system, in order to determine which matters are important to our communities.
The priorities selected do not detract from other priorities either locally or across the force.
Why these priorities have been chosen:
1 - Burglary
Whilst the summer saw a fall in the number of burglaries in Rushcliffe, there are still some pockets of offences, and similar types of offences which are being reported. There have been some linked offences in East Leake, as well as around Bridgford.
2 – E-bikes and scooters
We receive a lot of complaints linked to e-bikes and scooters, and associated ASB. These vehicles are routinely adapted and driven in excess of the speed they were designed or permitted for, and therefore not insures. The charging of modified bikes at home is also a significant fire risk.
3 – Rural theft
Rural crime is very much on our minds in Rushcliffe, and whilst rates are generally low, we recognise the impact such offending has on rural communities and businesses.
How you can have your voice heard:
You can take part in the NottsAlert “What Matters” survey here What Matters
You can report incidents by calling 999 or 101 as well as via our website.
You can also provide intelligence anonymously via Crimestoppers Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously | Crimestoppers
Issued 01 October 2026
1 – Burglary
We will ensure patrols are conducted during hours when offences have been occurring, and seek pro-active stop search & vehicle stop opportunities. We will seek offenders outstanding for burglary offences, and pro-actively police suspects on bail. We will support CID colleagues with enquiries linked to burglary offences.
2 – E-bikes & scooters
We will seek to seize e-scooters and bikes where they are used unlawfully, and conduct pro-active operations targeting those who use these vehicles to cause ASB or a danger to the public. We will also seek to engage with, and educate parents as to the risks associated with such vehicles when used by young people, as well as the fire risks linked to the charging of e-bikes & scooters.
3 – Rural theft
We will pro-actively target those involved in thefts impacting rural communities, and seek to disrupt them using an array of pro-active enforcement and specialist resources.
