Hello and welcome to the latest update from your neighbourhood policing team.
As part of my role as your Neighbourhood Inspector, I regularly meet with key local partners to discuss policing in the district and identify any issues of concern.
What follows is a brief summary of what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and the impact we are having across our communities.
Drug dealing and antisocial behaviour in Eastwood
Antisocial behaviour in Beeston
Drug-related and acquisitive crime, including theft, burglary, robbery, and vehicle-related theft. This is a new priority for the team.
Here is a brief summary of what we have been doing in these areas.
Drug dealing and antisocial behaviour in Eastwood:
A number of drug warrants have been executed at addresses in Eastwood South and Newthorpe. Items seized have included cash, mobile phones, drugs, and an XL Bully-type dog. We have also closed down a property along South Street that was involved in drug dealing and ASB.
These investigations are ongoing, and we are working with Broxtowe Borough Housing to deter further ASB and take action against tenants, one of whom has been evicted this month.
Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers have been conducting targeted patrols as part of the Eastwood South Hotspot Policing Programme. These increased visible patrols will discourage offenders from taking advantage of opportunities to commit crime. This priority will continue into the next quarter.

Off-Road Bike Team:
The Off-Road Bike Team (ORBT) and NPT have been patrolling hotspot areas for vehicle nuisance. Kimberley and Nuthall are key locations for this ASB. This work links with our City West NPT colleagues, who have seized bikes from Broxtowe Country Park that were involved in ASB. The ORBT is booked for July and August to help deter this issue.
Antisocial behaviour in Beeston:
A prolific offender, Kelly Freestone, has been arrested by the Neighbourhood Policing Team and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for continued shop theft offences in Beeston. The individual was also found to be in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). This result demonstrates our continued commitment to tackling repeat offenders who cause harm to local businesses and the wider community.
We have been working with housing partners to address reports of antisocial behaviour in the Villa Street area. Individuals responsible have been visited and warned that further incidents may result in enforcement action from the appropriate agency.
CCTV is being utilised to deter crime and ASB, and reassurance has been provided to residents about reporting concerns to both the police and housing teams. This partnership approach is key to achieving longer-term improvements.
Burglars Jack Higgins and Iona Christos have been sentenced to three and four years’ imprisonment for targeting student accommodation in Beeston. CCTV footage captured Higgins making multiple unsuccessful attempts to leave one of the premises after committing an offence.
This priority will continue into the next quarter.

Drug-related and acquisitive crime:
This priority has been identified due to information received from residents and partner feedback raising concerns about drug activity and offences such as theft, burglary, robbery, and vehicle crime. Crime data has shown an increase in these offences over the last three months.
E-bike ASB:
Targeted operations took place on 15 and 16 June 2026 in Chilwell and Stapleford, with positive results. Seven electric bikes were stopped, three illegal bikes were seized, and Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) were issued.

Car meets and street racing:
A new operation, Op Burnout, has been introduced to address car meets and street racing across Broxtowe. A Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) has been issued to a registered keeper following a failure to stop for police.
Please quote Operation Burnout when reporting via 101 or online.
