Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC) is the nationally recognised police uniformed youth group in England and Wales. The purpose of VPC is not to recruit future police officers, but to encourage the spirit of adventure and good citizenship.
We believe that all young people in Nottinghamshire, including those vulnerable to crime and social exclusion, should have the opportunity to learn valuable life skills and understand the role that Nottinghamshire Police play in supporting our communities.
Being a part of the cadets presents the opportunity to build trust and confidence in local policing, help young people to make a difference in their communities through youth-led action, and divert young people from negative influences and crime.
The benefits of being a cadet include:
Making new friendships and connections
Taking part in fun and exciting activities
Challenging yourself and learning new skills
Supporting your community through various projects and initiatives
Enhancing your CV
Building your confidence and leadership abilities
