Being a victim of crime can be an upsetting and traumatic experience, Nottinghamshire Police take all reports of robbery seriously.
What happens next?
An officer will attend and speak to you about your report. The officer will be responsible for investigating your crime, they will identify possible forensic opportunities to bring the offender to justice.
Evidence Preservation
What you can do:
- If you have sustained any injuries, the officer may ask you to photograph them or record them on their body worn video
- If you have photographs or serial numbers for your stolen items, please ensure these are available for the attending officer
- If you have a tracking software, then please have logins and passwords ready for the officer

What you can do:
There are some steps you can do to protect yourself and your property, these include:
- Know your route – Plan your route and try to keep on busy, well-lit streets. Use routes where there is likely to be CCTV
- Keep your valuables hidden from sight. If using your mobile phone, it is more likely to be snatched, so ensure you are paying attention to your surroundings
- If you are threatened with violence, don’t risk your personal safety, property can be replaced
