How priorities are chosen:

The priorities for the Broxtowe NPA is reviewed every 3 months in a Multi-Agency meeting attended by Police, Broxtowe Borough Council, Licensing and Probation.

The meeting looks at the data from crime recording and intelligence systems held by the police, as well as data from the Nottinghamshire Police Crime Commissioners Office and responses to the ‘What Matters’ survey submitted to the police via the Notts Alert system, in order to determine which matters are important to our communities.

The priorities selected do not detract from other priorities either locally or across the force.

Why this priority has been chosen:

This priority has been chosen as one of the local policing priorities for Chilwell/Stapleford due to calls relating to alcohol related drugs and crime. Crime data has shown an increase acquisitive crime over the last couple of months. Partner feedback has raised concerns drug related crime such as robbery and theft .

Drug-Related Crime and Enforcement Activity
As part of ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related criminality, the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) executed a warrant at an address on Central Avenue. Following a thorough search of the premises, no controlled drugs were located.

NPT officers have also been working closely with colleagues from Derbyshire Police to address drug-related crime and associated offending across the area. Joint enforcement activity resulted in a number of stop searches being conducted, leading to the arrest of two individuals. Outcomes from this activity included:

This partnership approach demonstrates our continued commitment to disrupting those involved in drug-related offences and tackling the wider criminality that can impact local communities.

E-Bike Anti-Social Behaviour
There has been a welcome reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour involving e-bikes, reflecting the positive impact of targeted patrols and proactive engagement carried out by officers.
During the last month, only one report was received relating to e-bike anti-social behaviour along Derby Road. A further incident involved the theft of an e-bike from a communal area at The Lilacs in Beeston.
The theft investigation remains ongoing, and officers continue to monitor hotspots and respond to any concerns raised by residents.

Op Burnout – Car Meets and Street Racing
Throughout July, Nottinghamshire Police received a number of reports relating to alleged car meets, street racing and vehicle-related anti-social behaviour in the following areas:

Toton Lane
Bardills Island
Swiney Way
Chilwell Retail Park

Most reports were received during late evening and early morning hours. A total of eight incidents (including one duplicate report) relating to alleged car meets and street racing were recorded during July 2026. Officers attended the majority of incidents, typically within 10 to 15 minutes of receiving the report. On 4 July, one vehicle gathering was dispersed by police; however, no offences were identified. In all other attended incidents, officers found no evidence of organised street racing, large-scale car meets, or anti-social vehicle use. Analysis of reports shows that the busiest reporting period was late Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday morning, accounting for four of the eight incidents recorded during the month. Officers will continue to conduct patrols and monitor key locations during these peak periods. Members of the public are encouraged to provide vehicle registrations, descriptions, CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, or any other supporting evidence when reporting concerns, as this can significantly assist investigations and enforcement action.

Drug related crime and acquisitive crime Stapleford/Chilwell Op Techno

This new priority has been introduced for the forthcoming quarter and has been identified as a local policing priority following information received from residents and key stakeholders. Feedback highlighted ongoing concerns relating to drug activity, theft, burglary, robbery, and vehicle crime. Recent crime data supports these concerns, showing an increase in these offence types over the past three months. We will be tackling this by carrying out targeted high-visibility patrols, proactive and intelligence-led operations to disrupt offending, and working in partnership with local agencies to address crime and its underlying causes in identified hotspot areas.

Vehicle Nuisance Op Wrangle
The NPT carried out an operation targeting illegal e-bikes on 15 and 16 June in Chilwell and Stapleford. During the operation, seven electric bikes were stopped, with three identified as illegal and subsequently seized. Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) were also issued to riders. Officers engaged with members of the public throughout the operation, who expressed support for the proactive approach and were reassured that robust action is being taken to address this issue. It is anticipated that this enforcement activity will act as a deterrent to others engaging in similar behaviour.
