Drug dealing | targeting dealers, increasing intelligence Drug related crime has a devastating impact on the lives of its victims and the wider communities. Drug dealing is intrinsically linked to violence at street level, anti-social behaviour and theft. For this reason we focus we focus a great deal of our proactive time targeting dealing in Broxtowe. I bid in for home office resources to provide the area with additional funds used to target drugs offenders. This is called Operation GRIP. In August this overtime led to 10 stop searches, 5 offensive weapons being taken off the streets, 7 drug seizures, 5 arrests, 2 searches and 10 vehicles being taken off the road. I would encourage anyone with concerns in relation to any criminal activity to report them directly to us or anonymously via CrimeStoppers. I assure you all information is treated confidentially, reviewed, developed and appropriate action is taken. Further warrants are already being planned and the results of these will be released in due course.
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) | raising awareness and keeping our communities safe Anti-social behaviour (ASB) remains a priority for the Broxtowe area with Operation POTASSIUM focussing on the issues in Beeston/Chilwell and Operation PLATTER targeting the issue in Kimberley. We are fully aware that young people need alternative provisions to divert them away from causing nuisance on our streets so are committed to working with partners to achieve diversionary schemes that work. Tackling Road Crime | raising awareness and preventing injury *new priority* As the nights get darker and we approach the colder months our attention will now turn to our road networks. We are repeatedly informed of locations where speeding takes place and will look to deploy speeding operations in these areas. I also want to work with our communities to drive the community speed watch programme into new areas. This is an opportunity for the public to get trained up by my officers and then roll out their own speed operations . This has been hugely successful in other areas across Nottinghamshire. We will also look to tackle off road bike nuisance through the deployment of our off road bike team in the most targeted areas. Finally, we will continue to provide education to the public, retailers and schools around the laws for E-scooters.
