Your local policing team is made up of dedicated neighbourhood officers and community support officers based in your community, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with our partners and engage the community when deciding our policing priorities for your area. By working together we aim to find solutions to longstanding local problems while maintaining our wider focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour across Nottinghamshire.
City Central Priorities – October - December 2026
•Acquisitive crime – Residential Burglary and Auto crime
•Serious Violence
How priorities are chosen:
The priorities for the City Central Neighbourhood Team are reviewed every three months through a multi-agency meeting. This is attended by:
•Neighbourhood Policing Inspector and Sergeants
•Nottingham City Council Housing Services Officer
•Nottingham City Council ASB Enforcement Officer
•Nottingham City Council Neighbourhood Safety Officer
During this meeting, partners review:
•Crime and intelligence data held by Nottinghamshire Police
•Data from the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office
•Community feedback gathered via the ‘What Matters’ survey through the Notts Alert system
This combined approach ensures that the selected priorities reflect the concerns that matter most to our communities.
These priorities do not detract from other policing responsibilities, either locally or across the force.

Acquisitive Crime: Residential Burglary and Auto Crime
There has been a continued issue with:
•Residential burglary
•Auto crime
To address this, Operation Arriving was implemented over the summer period, focusing additional resources on the areas most affected by these offences. Activity has included:
•Targeted days of action featuring proactive policing, high-visibility patrols and targeted arrests.
•Community engagement events, with officers providing crime prevention advice and reassurance to residents.
•Increased patrols in identified hotspot locations.
•Partnership working to identify offenders and reduce opportunities for crime.
This work has delivered valuable intelligence and enforcement opportunities and will continue throughout the next quarter. Further days of action and targeted operations are planned to maintain momentum and ensure continued progress against these priorities.
Serious Violence
There has been a rise in violent crime across City Central, including incidents involving knife crime and sexual offences.
Reducing violence remains a key priority for the neighbourhood policing team. Officers are working closely with force-wide specialist departments, partner agencies, licensed premises, educational establishments and community organisations to identify those responsible and safeguard those most at risk.
Current activity includes:
•Targeted patrols in areas identified as violence hotspots.
•Proactive operations aimed at identifying and disrupting individuals involved in knife crime.
•Engagement with local businesses and the night-time economy to improve safety and reporting.
•Safeguarding and support for victims of violence and sexual offences.
•Intelligence-led policing to target repeat offenders and those causing the greatest harm within our communities.
We remain committed to tackling violent crime, preventing offending and ensuring City Central remains a safe place for residents, businesses and visitors.
We will maintain a proactive, partnership-led approach, working closely with local agencies to:
•Cut Crime
•Keep People Safe
•Do the right thing
