ASB (All forms of ASB, including begging, street drinking and drug dealing)
Local problem-solving work continues to target persistent aggressive beggars who are causing anti-social behaviour within the area, with planned days of action coming up, we will target those who are causing problems within our community.
Extra patrols around the areas where the majority of our student population live continue to ensure that we are responding any anti-social behaviour issues.
We will continue to execute drugs warrants at addresses where drug dealing is taking place.
Serious Violence (Knife crime, violence against the person and violence against women and girls (VAWAG)
Further patrols will continue over these winter months in areas that have been identified as hot spots, to ensure our communities feel safe. Further CCTV cameras are to be installed in areas of concern.
Extra patrols have been conducted around the areas where our students live, to provide visibility and reassurance at night time.
We continue to target our most violent offenders including those that are involved in knife crime.
Serious Acquisitive Crime - Residential Burglaries and Personal Robberies
Burglaries continue to be an issue as the darker nights continue. We have been offering crime prevention and personal safety advice to the students within the universities and have also increased our patrols in areas where burglaries and robberies are occurring.
There have been numerous key arrests who have been dealt with robustly by our dedicated Burglary and Robbery teams.
