Your local policing team is made up of dedicated neighbourhood officers and community support officers based in your community, supported by additional officers from the wider area.
We work closely with our partners and engage the community when deciding our policing priorities for your area. By working together we aim to find solutions to longstanding local problems while maintaining our wider focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour across Nottinghamshire.
Priority 1: Vehicle Related ASB
Why This Priority Has Been Chosen
Vehicle-related ASB continues to be the most commonly reported ASB issue across Mansfield. Concerns include off-road bikes, e-scooters, speeding, nuisance driving, vehicle meets and anti-social driving around schools and within the night-time economy. Maintaining this as a priority allows dedicated resources and focused problem-solving activity.
Issued 01 October 2026
What We Have Been Doing
Our Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to tackle vehicle ASB through Operation Nebraska, our dedicated problem management plan for off-road bikes and nuisance vehicles. During recent proactive operations, officers in plain clothes conducted enforcement activity around Oak Tree Tesco and Asda, resulting in three vehicles being seized. Further deployments are planned throughout the autumn.
We are also working alongside specialist teams, including the Road Policing Unit and Off-Road Bike Team, to identify offenders and disrupt offending. Where vehicles cannot be safely stopped, we continue to utilise alternative tactics, including facial recognition and intelligence-led investigations, to identify and prosecute those responsible.

Priority 2: Retail Crime
Why This Priority Has Been Chosen
Retail crime remains the highest-volume crime type across Mansfield. All of the top ten repeat offenders across the district are shoplifters, and six of the top ten offence locations are retail premises. Shop theft is often linked to wider issues including anti-social behaviour, drug misuse, begging and organised criminality.
Issued 01 October 2026
What We Have Been Doing
We continue to work closely with retailers and partner agencies to target prolific offenders and improve outcomes for businesses. There are currently eight Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) in place against repeat offenders operating across Mansfield.
Encouragingly, shop theft has reduced by 3.83% compared with the same period last year. Our positive outcome rate for shop theft is currently 35.7%, demonstrating our commitment to identifying offenders and bringing them to justice. Dedicated operations, including Operation Amberstag and Operation Towncryer, continue to focus on retail crime, associated ASB and criminality within the town centre.

Priority 3: Drug Dealing
Why This Priority Has Been Chosen
Drug dealing continues to generate significant concern amongst residents, businesses and partner agencies. It is linked to ASB, exploitation, violence, public health concerns and the exploitation of vulnerable people. Information received from the public and partner organisations indicates that this remains an area requiring sustained enforcement and prevention activity.
Issued 01 October 2026
What We Have Been Doing
Officers are actively developing intelligence and preparing warrants against individuals suspected of supplying drugs. Recent community information also led to the discovery of a large cannabis grow at the former Saville House School site.
We are continuing to tackle organised criminality through partnership work aimed at preventing child criminal exploitation and identifying vulnerable people whose homes may be being "cuckooed" by offenders. Through Operation Conclusion and wider partnership activity with the council, housing providers, probation and treatment services, we have secured closure orders and are targeting further addresses linked to drug-related harm and criminality.
