Retail Crime District-wide
Issued 01 April 2025
Across the district we continue to seek a prevalence of retail crime and specifically shop theft. The impact of such offending, whilst often low value, is significant due to the affect on shop workers, the business owners and the community’s confidence in using local shops. The team are working hard on targeting our prolific offenders, as well as working with businesses to build relationships and undertake preventative work.

ASB in our parks and open spaces
Issued 01 April 2025
The district benefits from a number of parks, nature reserves and other open spaces. These are area which can and should be enjoyed by the whole community. However, as we move into the spring and summer months, we are aware that these areas on occasion suffer from ASB, whether that be groups drinking, taking drugs or otherwise acting in a disorderly manner. Or off-road vehicles, poaching or wildlife crime. We are committed to ensuring we are visible in these areas to deter and disrupt this behaviour.

ASB Newark Town Centre
Issued 01 April 2025
ASB in Newark Town Centre has been a long-standing priority for the neighbourhood policing team, with lots of good work already undertaken. The issue is ever evolving and as a team we will adapt our plans and activities in order to focus efforts in the right place. Recent reports indicate issue with street drinkers acting in an anti-social manner in the vicinity of town square, and issues with young people using the food and entertainment premises on London Road. The team will be taking steps over the next few months to counter this offending.
