ASB - October 2024 to December 2024
It has been decided that the Policing priority for Aspley, Bilborough and Leen Valley Wards will be Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). This is in preparation for darker evenings, the clocks changing and Halloween and Bonfire Night. The Police will provide additional patrols around Parks and open spaces as well as Streets and public buildings and engage with youth signposting to local youth provision. We will be having monthly meetings with our partners to ensure that we are patrolling the places experiencing the most ASB. We are also working with local schools and clubs to address any concerns which provides a multi-layered problem-solving approach. We encourage any member of the public to report ASB to us on 101.

December Update
Across the four areas, on the City West, where ASB is the priority, we have recorded 59 incidents during the month of November. This breaks down to 14 on the Aspley Ward, 19 on Bilborough 5 on Leen Valley and 21 on Basford.
Research and analysis show that 35% of those reported are in three categories, Loud Music, Fireworks and Snowballs. Clearly two of these are seasonal related issues and we don’t expect them to continue.
Loud music can be a real intrusion, but the Police do not have any powers to enforce and deal, we would of course refer the issue onto the City Council who do have powers to resolve.
Overall given the snow fall and firework period the area has seen a reduction in ASB related incidents.
As we move towards the festive period and New Year, we hope you have fun but please be considerate to your neighbours if having get togethers and celebrate the season safely.
